Signs of Spring

The days are gradually getting warmer and it’s a nice time to be at the farm. This week I planted the flowers I got at Botanical Gardens. I hope they grow, as I definitely don’t have a green thumb!

The water was choppy as there was a cold wind. It was hard to hold my camera still to take a picture of the sea. But the plum blossoms are in bloom and are so lovely and delicate-looking!

Hiroo found these fuki-no-to buds in the ground. People often make tempura with them but i made fuki-no-to miso and we had it with brown rice. The taste of spring! They are just a little bitter, but that is the special flavor to enjoy!

Hiroo was busy planting things. I had English Bible Cafe on Saturday and we had a great time. My students are all so enthusiastic and have fresh ideas! We are studying the Sermon on the Mount in Luke 6. “Judge not lest you be not judged.”

We talked about how we often judge or criticize other people when we don’t fully understand the situation they are in. Later, sometimes we find out how wrong we were! That has certainly happened to me.

Hiroo had a birthday and Fujiko brought us the best and freshest oysters ever! He really wolfed them down!

Next weekend, Tomi and kids are coming so i am going to bake lots of hot dog buns and let them grill the dogs outside! Hope it’s nice weather! Come and see us there if you are free! Our next English Bible Cafe is March 28th from 10:00 AM!
