Nan (in a frying pan!)

 

 

250g (2cups+ 2T) bread flour

125cc warm water (1/2 cup)

1 T salad oil

1/2 T honey

2 T plain yogurt (Caspian yogurt is popular in Japan)

1/2 T dry yeast (3~4g0

1/2 teas salt

1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. knead for about 10 minutes on a flat surface or in a bread machine. (By hand is fine) Form a ball, place in a bowl covered with clear wrap an let rise until double.

2. Divide in 7 pieces and roll into balls. Let rest under a damp tea towel for 10 minutes.

3. Heat a frying pan on medium high. Roll out each piece in an elongated shape about 20cm (8inches?) Pull one edge out to make it kind of a long triangle shape. Quickly brush one side with water and stick that side onto your frying pan. Cook until it is puffed up, turn over and bake the other side. remove and continue this with the rest. (2 fit in my pan at a time.)

Reheat in microwave for 20 seconds to serve.

Makes seven small Nan. This is very easy and good!

    I;m so glad you tried it! I had this recipe for two years before doing it and waas sorry I waited so long! They are so easy, right?!
